    First International Symposium on Land Remote Sensing: Algorithms and Products
    May 30‐June 1, 2012 Chengdu, China
    Call for Papers
    Latest news!

    1. Deadline for on‐line abstract submission postponed to April 05, Acceptance notice postponed to April 12.
    2. The conference papers will be published as a special issue in three journals (“Journal of Remote Sensing”, “Journal of Mountain Science” and the third one is to be determined, which should indexed by SCI).
    The full paper should be submitted to ISLRS2012 office (islrs2012@163.com) before July 1, 2012. The selected papers will be published in the special issue of the three journals.
    With Immense amounts of data available from satellite observations, sophisticated models and inversion algorithms have been developed and a series of satellite products have been generated to meet the needs for spatial information on Earth’s environment and resources. This meeting will assess the current progress and identify the future research directions of land remote sensing. Both experimental/potential and operational land products are relevant, including surface radiation and energy budget components (e.g., incident solar radiation, albedo, emissivity, skin temperature, net radiation, sensible and latent heat fluxes), biophysical variables (e.g., leaf area index, fraction of photosynthitically active radiation absorbed by green vegetation (FPAR), fractional vegetation coverage, canopy biochemical properties, canopy profiles, biomass, gross and net primary productivity), hydrological variables (e.g., soil moisture, snow water equivalent, water storage), and land cover and land use changes.
    Both review and technical papers are solicited on modeling and inversion/mapping algorithms, production, validation, and utilization of these relevant land surface products.
    The official language of the symposium is English.
    Important dates:
    April 05, 2012, Deadline for on‐line abstract submission;
    April 12, 2012, Acceptance notice;
    April 25, 2012, Deadline of early registration.
